Portuguese Mi Store now accepts Bitcoin payments

The official Portuguese shop of Chinese electronics giant Mi Store has partnered with Utrust to accept five cryptocurrencies as payments.

Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi is the global firm to get involved in the crypto industry as the official Xiaomi store now accepts BTC payments.

Official  Xiaomi retailer shop of Portugal announced Wednesday on its Facebook account that the store now enables customers to purchase products using 5 cryptocurrency  including BTC, ETH, USDT, DASH and UTK token.

In the official website of Mi Store Portugal, integrating the option of pay with crypto at checkout for portugal customers.

The crypto payment option is integrated through a partnership with Utrust. Utrust is a European leading crypto payment solution platform, based on  blockchain technology .

According to global industry analysis firm Counterpoint,

Mi Store Portugal operates under the European legislation, which is the only official retailer of Xiaomi in Portugal, its website notes. Currently a total 6 physical stores are available in Portugal and more in the process.

MD of Xiaomi Store of Portugal, Pedro Maia said that the firm’s move to accept crypto for payments is looking for further innovation.

 “We are a technological, innovative, and disruptive brand. That’s why we always want to be one step ahead. We want to give the possibility to all true technology fans to buy their favorite gadgets with what is currently the ‘most technological money.’”
