PayPal is recruiting crypto team for Ireland office
PayPal, The Global payments provider is in the process of hiring for several cryptocurrency-related positions for its Ireland offices.
The new hiring will help PayPal to expand its crypto-focused business offering at a time of rapid adoption of Bitcoin and Ether. Further highlighting the company’s ambitions in the rapidly growing digital asset market.
On Sunday Dublin-based Irish Independent reported that PayPal is searching for various crypto team members in compliance, business development and anti-money laundering for its Dundalk and Dublin office.
The Global payments provider launched a dedicated crypto and blockchain business unit earlier this year to support its foray into cryptocurrencies, which initially began Earlier in October, 2020 by allowing users of U.S. to buy cryptocurrencies like Ethe(ETH), Bitcoin(BTC), Bitcoin Cash(BCH) and Litecoin(LTC).
In March 2021, PayPal expanded its offering by allowing U.S. users to pay for goods and services using their cryptocurrencies. 2 months later, the company declared that it allows users to withdraw their cryptocurrencies to third-party wallets.
PayPal’s CEO, said that in April PayPal’s crypto business crossed all expectations in its first 6 months of operations. The rapid uptake of digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ether coincided with a massive price surge that pushed the overall cryptocurrency market to a nearly $2.6 trillion valuation.
During PayPal's quarterly earnings call last week, Dan indicated that the company's crypto trading service would be coming to theU.K. in the very near future.
